Albuquerque, N.M. - After a pair of hard-fought semifinal match ups, the championship game is set. Saturday's action featured high-level arms, late-inning drama, and a wave of future Pathway Prospect Games (PPG) talent. With everything on the line, two teams stepped up and earned their shot at the crown.
Game 1: Sticks Baseball – White Sox Scout Team 2, Rocky Mountain Lobos 1
The first semifinal was a showcase of composure and grit. Ty Frank (Rocky Mountain Lobos) turned in a standout performance, holding a dangerous Sticks lineup scoreless through six innings and putting the Lobos up 1–0 with an RBI single in the fifth.
But in the top of the seventh, everything shifted. The Sticks opened with a double, tied the game on a passed ball, then took the lead on a sacrifice fly from Eli Barrera. The Lobos nearly responded. With one out in the bottom half, Ben Coultas crushed a triple, putting the tying run 90 feet away.
But a base running mistake on a fly ball left him stranded at third. Sticks punched out the final hitter to seal a gritty 2–1 victory and earn their spot in the final.
The Lobos came up just short, but not unnoticed. Frank's outing was elite, and the team featured high-level talent including Kai Wagner (2025 PPG), and Erik Jacobson and Bradley Mallette (2026 PPG). Sticks advanced thanks to late-game execution, poise under pressure, and standout performances from players like 2026 PPG selection Darnell Joe.
Game 2: Baseball Collab 12, El Paso Elite 2027 White 5
Baseball Collab came into the semifinal with eight players already selected for the 2025 PPG, and they delivered a complete team performance when it mattered most. They built an early lead, watched it tighten to 7–5 after a push from El Paso Elite in the sixth — then put it away in the bottom half.
Shortstop Anthony Mondragon added an RBI to extend the lead to 8–5, and then two-time PPG selection Bryson Weibler delivered the dagger — a bases-loaded double that cleared the bags and made it 12–5. Other key contributions came from Zack Hall, Bradyn Santillanes, Bryson Leavitt, and pinch hitter Dane Wyman, whose triple earlier helped shift the momentum.
Baseball Collab's lineup came through in every moment and looked the part of a championship team, advancing to the title game.
"We saw four great teams on display here this morning, and it is a testament to these programs," said Pathway Director Gino Grasso on the semifinal action. "Two different styles of games played, one was a complete pitcher's duel and the other was a hard fought comeback effort that came up just short. We are looking forward to an exciting match up for the Pathway Albuquerque crown."
