FORT COLLINS, CO. – After sifting through results from the previous year at its challenging series of 17u-18u tournaments, Pathway Baseball has announced its 2022 preseason rankings ahead of this season's event calendar, which begins June 14-23 in Albuquerque.
The top-ranked squad out of the West and overall is the Adispeed 18 Elite team out of Vacaville, CA. Leading the way for the Eastern teams is the Richmond (VA) Braves 17u Platinum.
In the Pathway ranking system, each team begins at a baseline of 1,500 points, and those totals are only affected by head-to-head matchups. A win by a high-ranked team over a lower-ranked team will not affect point totals dramatically, but an upset win by a lower-ranked team will sway point totals more significantly. Pathway Invitational events have a small multiplier added due to the strength of the overall field of teams.
Western Top 5:
Adispeed 18 Elite – 1,624 points
Great Lakes Academy – 1,605
RA Academy Black – 1,596
BBA Desert Sox – 1,590
NC Valley Utah – 1,581
