2025 Prospect Games Selections Deliver This Spring

As the 2025 Pathway Prospect Games in San Diego, at Tony Gwynn Stadium, home of the San Diego State Aztecs,  (Aug. 6-10) draw closer, we want to recognize a group of players who didn't just earn invites — they backed it up with strong, consistent seasons for their high school programs.

Across multiple states and conferences, these athletes made an impact on the field, showed maturity in how they approached the game and collected honors that speak to both their performance and their work ethic.

Cooper Vais (CO) continues to cement himself as one of the top 2027s in the country. The Arvada West standout threw 54 innings with 93 strikeouts and a 1.20 ERA while hitting .340 with five home runs. He was named Conference MVP, First Team All-Conference, earned Gatorade Player of the Year and Sports Illustrated Pitcher of the Year nominations and remains the No. 1-ranked player in his class in Colorado by Prep Baseball Report.

Talan Speir (AZ) had one of the more complete two-way seasons in the region. He hit .485 with 28 RBI and 13 stolen bases and added 35.1 innings on the mound with a 1.58 ERA and 57 strikeouts. His list of postseason awards includes Region Player of the Year, First Team All-State and multiple All-Region honors.

Angelo Vieira (CO) was a steady presence for Poudre, batting .373 with 25 hits, six doubles, three triples and two home runs, while also throwing 25 innings with a 3.70 ERA and 30 strikeouts. He was named First Team All-Conference, First Team Academic All-State and was selected to the Colorado Dugout Club Coaches Association Top 50 junior state game.

Christian Waitley (ID) showed up on both sides of the ball for Canyon Ridge. He hit .418 with 17 RBI and nine stolen bases, while also posting 19 strikeouts in 14 innings on the mound. He earned 6A First Team All-Conference, was a two-time Player of the Week in the Times-News and was recognized as a 6A Baseball State Academic Champion and HAWK HS 4.0 athlete.

Simon Rose (IL) was as reliable as they come. He hit .365 with 24 RBI and 13 extra-base hits, while posting a 0.284 ERA over 24.2 innings with 33 strikeouts. His performance helped secure a First Team All-Conference nod in the competitive CSL North league.

Jackson Wier (CO) was a major piece of the puzzle for Fairview, hitting .365 with three home runs and 24 RBI while also pitching 41.1 innings with a 1.86 ERA, 50 strikeouts and a 0.992 WHIP. He was named First Team All-Conference as a pitcher and also earned Academic All-State honors.

Tage McKinley (UT) put together a complete offensive season for Juan Diego Catholic, hitting .485 with 33 hits, five triples and eight doubles. He was named First Team All-Region.

Norman Montion (TX) was a key part of Coronado's run to a district title. He hit .339 with 29 RBI and was named First Team All-District at third base while helping his team win both the District and Bi-District Championships.

Hudson Smith (UT) stood out on the mound, throwing 56.1 innings with 81 strikeouts, a 2.48 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. He was named NS High School Cy Young Award winner, was a finalist for the Mid Utah Radio Pitcher of the Year and was recognized as Player of the Week by the Deseret News.

Isaac Waymire (CO) led Fairview in multiple offensive categories, posting a .545 batting average, 1.280 OPS, and 21 RBI. He earned First Team All-Conference, received All-State recognition and was runner-up for Conference Player of the Year in 5A.

Michael Miller (CA) was one of the most consistent hitters in California's CCAA league, batting .483 with 29 hits, 22 RBI and a .767 slugging percentage. He was named First Team All-League and Team MVP for Turlock Christian.

Jayce Sanchez (CO) quietly turned in a strong year for Riverdale Ridge, hitting .356 with 18 RBI and a .500 OBP while also posting a 2.42 ERA in 17 innings on the mound. He was named Second Team All-Conference.

McCoy Johnson (UT) showed power all year, finishing with a .395 average, 13 home runs, and 39 RBI for Alta – numbers that will get the attention of college coaches this summer.

Boston Swain (UT) brought balance to the lineup at Mountain Ridge, hitting .361 with a .722 slugging percentage and a 1.280 OBP while also throwing 10 innings with a 0.90 ERA and 18 strikeouts.

Daniel Kean (NM) stood out among New Mexico's underclass talent, hitting .366 with 27 RBI and 15 doubles; he was named one of the top three freshmen in the state.

Brett Paxton (ID) was a steady performer for Filer, throwing 49 innings with a 2.14 ERA and 59 strikeouts. He also contributed offensively with a .333 average, two home runs and 28 RBI, earning First Team All-Conference honors.

Zach Hall (CO) was one of the toughest outs in the lineup for Fossil Ridge, striking out just three times in 57 at-bats while hitting .298 and posting a 94.7 percent contact rate. On the mound, he added 10.2 innings with a 0.65 ERA and 20 strikeouts.

Cannon Eddie (ID) was a force in the High Country Conference, hitting .456 with six home runs, 13 doubles and a .911 slugging percentage. He was named Conference Player of the Year and First Team Catcher, with All-State recognition pending.

Simon Wyman & Dane Wyman (CO) both played key roles for their teams, with Dane throwing 49.1 innings and striking out 54, earning First Team All-Conference and Academic All-State for the second straight year.

Kellen Conley (CO) posted a .400 average, .550 OBP and 1.083 OPS while helping Arvada West win a league title and advance to the state's Elite 8. He was named Academic All-State and recognized for his leadership throughout the season.

Other players such as Jace Irwin (ID), Colton Johnson (CO), Triston Munson (UT), Kai Wagner (CO), and Liam Goetz (CO) also turned in meaningful contributions and earned postseason honors, setting themselves up for a strong summer on the recruiting trail.

This year's Prospect Games roster reflects more than just talent — it reflects work ethic, leadership and players who showed up for their teams. San Diego will give them a new stage to compete, connect and keep moving forward.
