The Pathway to the Prospect Games
The Pathway Baseball Player Identification Process
From Triple Crown Youth Baseball to the Pathway Prospect Games

Pathway Baseball provides a clear and proven system for identifying and developing players over time. This is not a single tryout or one event—it is a long-term evaluation process that begins in youth baseball and continues through high school.

Players are identified early, tracked consistently, and the top performers earn selection to the Pathway Prospect Games at the University of San Diego—the premier event in the Pathway system.

STEP 1: Entry Through Triple Crown Youth Baseball
Top of the Rockies All-State Games (Ages 11U–14U)

The Pathway begins with Triple Crown youth baseball events held across the country.

Players who stand out at Triple Crown events may be nominated to compete in the Top of the Rockies All-State Games, which serves as the first official step into the Pathway system.

At this stage, players:

  • Compete against top players in their region
  • Are evaluated by Pathway scouts during live gameplay
  • Enter the Pathway identification and tracking system

This is where players first enter the Pathway pipeline and begin their long-term evaluation.

STEP 2: Prospect Futures — National Underclass Identification
Location: Loyola Marymount University (Incoming Freshmen)

Prospect Futures is the first national evaluation stage for players entering high school and serves as a major identification point for future Prospect Games players.

Players are identified and selected from multiple Pathway and Triple Crown evaluation opportunities, including both major events and standalone identification camps.

Players may be selected from:

  • Top of the Rockies All-State Games
  • Triple Crown youth events nationwide
  • Pathway regional events
  • UCCS Prospect Camp (Colorado Springs, CO)
  • Best of the West Finale Camp (Ogden, UT)
  • Additional Pathway identification camps and evaluation events

At Prospect Futures, players:

  • Compete against elite national-level incoming freshmen
  • Are evaluated by Pathway scouting staff and college coaches
  • Enter long-term national player tracking
  • Begin positioning themselves for future Prospect Games selection

This stage allows Pathway staff to evaluate player development over multiple years.

STEP 3: Pathway Regional Events — High School Evaluation and Development

As players progress through high school, they continue to be evaluated at official Pathway regional events held throughout the country.

These events provide ongoing evaluation opportunities and allow Pathway staff and college coaches to follow player development in live game settings.

Official Pathway Regional Events include:

  • Pathway Albuquerque
  • Pathway Omaha
  • Pathway Utah
  • Pathway Colorado
  • Pathway Myrtle Beach
  • Pathway Las Vegas
  • Pathway Arizona

At these events, players are evaluated on:

  • Game performance
  • Athletic tools and skill development
  • Consistency and progression over time
  • Competitive performance against high-level competition

These regional events serve as the primary evaluation platform for Prospect Games selection.

STEP 4: The Final Stage — Pathway Prospect Games
University of San Diego
The Premier Event in the Pathway System

The Pathway Prospect Games represent the highest level of the Pathway Baseball system.

Each year, only 132 players are selected from thousands evaluated across the country to compete in this five-day national event.

The Prospect Games feature:

  • Teams coached by current college coaches
  • 60–70 college programs in attendance
  • Full practice and development sessions at the University of San Diego
  • Media Day and player exposure opportunities
  • Opening Night Banquet
  • Championship-level game competition

Players receive a full custom gear package including:

  • New Balance Prospect Games uniforms, apparel, cleats, and turfs
  • Official Prospect Games hat and duffle bag
  • Diamond Krew custom sunglasses

This event is designed to mirror the college baseball environment and provide maximum exposure and development opportunities.

Selection to the Prospect Games represents the highest achievement within the Pathway system.

How Players Earn Selection

Players are selected based on long-term evaluation and performance across multiple events, including:

  • Triple Crown youth baseball events
  • Top of the Rockies All-State Games
  • Prospect Futures
  • Pathway Regional Events
  • Pathway identification camps and evaluation events

Selection is earned through consistent performance, development, and evaluation over time.

There are no shortcuts.

The Pathway Philosophy
  • Players are evaluated over multiple years—not one event
  • Selection is earned, not guaranteed
  • There are multiple entry points into the Pathway system
  • The process is designed to identify and develop players over time

The Pathway system ensures that the right players rise through performance, development, and consistency.
